How this site may earn money

The Trend Monitor, published by Goods Rush LLC, may earn revenue from advertising, sponsored placements, and qualifying purchases through affiliate links. Mentioning a brand or linking to a source does not establish a commercial relationship.

Advertisements are labeled at their placement. Articles containing affiliate links carry a commission disclosure before the recommendations. Source references and photo credits are provided to identify evidence and creators; they are not paid endorsements.

An affiliate link can allow a merchant or affiliate network to attribute a qualifying purchase to a publication. If we use one, The Trend Monitor may receive a commission under that program’s terms.

An article with affiliate links must include a clear disclosure near the recommendations, before a reader needs to act on them. The explanation must identify the possibility of a commission. A link to this page alone is not a substitute for that article-level disclosure.

The amount or availability of a commission must not determine a review’s conclusion. Relevant alternatives can be included even when they do not have an affiliate arrangement.

Sponsored content and advertising

If a business pays for an article or placement, it must be visibly labeled “Sponsored” or “Advertisement,” as appropriate. The sponsor’s identity and the nature of its involvement must be clear.

Sponsored material must not be presented as an independent review. Factual claims still require evidence, and payment does not justify an inaccurate or misleading statement.

Supplied products, discounts, and hosted travel

A review or travel story must disclose a product loan, free item, special discount, hosted stay, paid transportation, or other benefit supplied in connection with the coverage. When relevant, it should explain whether a product was returned or retained and which trip costs were covered.

Receiving a benefit does not guarantee favorable coverage. The article must describe the actual experience and evaluation honestly, including meaningful drawbacks. Personal or business relationships that could affect how readers interpret a recommendation must also be made clear.

You remain in control of the purchase

Reading an article does not obligate you to use a shopping link. You can compare other retailers or visit a provider directly. Check the final price, fees, availability, return terms, and any eligibility requirements with the merchant before buying.

The Trend Monitor publishes information; it does not process purchases, issue bookings, or handle a merchant’s returns and customer service. A merchant’s own terms and privacy practices apply when you use its services.

Clear language, in the right place

Material relationships must be easy to notice where a recommendation appears. The FTC's endorsement guidance explains why financial connections need clear, conspicuous disclosure. A policy-page link does not replace that explanation beside the content.

Read our editorial standards for evidence, testing limitations, and corrections. Finance coverage is general education, and merchants remain responsible for their products, bookings, and customer service.
